Create Custom Truss

It is quite an easy process to create a custom truss in ArchiCAD, it only take lines to create, just follow a few easy steps outlined below.

First go into section view

Select line in the toolbox and draw a truss on a desired location

Take note that the lines act as an axis hence the assigned thickness of the truss projects from the centre.

After outlining the truss drawing, you may highlight a multiple of lines or a single line and go to Design > Design Extras > Truss Maker > Create Truss as in screenshot 1 below

Truss Maker settings dialog box will pop up, assign attributes and truss profiles as in screenshot 2 below

aaaaaaaaaa

After assigning attributes and truss profiles click Ok, a save truss dialog will appear as screenshot 3 below, type in the name of the truss and click Ok, it will be saved in the embedded library and created on the floor plan as per screenshot 4 below, click Ok.

Work-Around ArchiCAD 16 Hotfix 3 (Build 3482) crash problem.

Even though ArchiCAD 16 Hotfix 3 (Build 3284) has been revoked, there can be a work-around and that is by disabling Guide Lines, then one can work around the problem until the new hotfix with the correction of this problem is released. For those users who cannot avoid using Guide Lines please use the steps written in previous post link http://archicadsa.org/?p=1994&preview=true for going back to the previous hotfix.

NB: Important Note for Teamwork users:

Working in Teamwork requires that client ArchiCADs, the BIM Server Manager and the BIM Server all have the identical version number (or “build number”).

If you are running a client ArchiCAD whose version number is different than that of the BIM Server, you cannot continue working in Teamwork until the same hotfix is installed for the BIM Server. (The same is true for all the other client ArchiCADs working from the same BIM Server.)

Therefore, if you decide to update either a client ArchiCAD or a BIM Server, be aware that you must update all clients and the BIM Server so that they share the identical version number.

ArchiCAD 16 Hotfix 3 (Build 3482) Revoked

ArchiCAD 16 Hotfix 3 (Build 3482) has been revoked due to a crash that occurs frequently when someone uses Guide Lines. The Hotfix is no longer available for download. We think there is already a fix, so we hope that a fixed package will be released very soon.
Users can get back to the previous hotfix by going through these steps:
1.       Uninstall and reinstall ArchiCAD 16
2.       Restart the computer
3.       Use Check for Updates in the Help menu to hotfix ArchiCAD 16 with the previous Hotfix (it will guide you to the        previous hotfix) and the current Library Hotfix if there is one for your ArchiCAD localization.
4.       Restart the computer

We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
