GRAPHISOFT SA would like to congratulate the winner of the 2013 ArchiCAD SADC Student Competition, Danie Steenkamp!
The quality of the student entries was very high! We are encouraged by both the level of technical excellence displayed in the projects, as well as the architectural merit that many projects showed. The students had experimented with a variety of ArchiCAD functionality, a notable entry in this regard was that of Katleho Mofokeng, who had taken the use of the shell tool to new levels.
Second place Danel Mentz, had also tested the boundaries of her ArchiCAD model, with not only an extremely intricate and well detailed model, but also showing the design in a very articulate manner, in the reference image here we see beautiful 3D cut perspectives of the sun control and building facade system.
It was however the project of Danie Steenkamp, that displayed overall the best use of ArchiCAD. Danie’s model was well detailed, his presentation was almost seamlessly taken directly from the model, his organisation of the navigator and associated settings was of a high quality, making him our winner. WELL DONE DANIE!
Danie will be be a guest speaker at this year’s 15th Annual ArchiCAD SADC Conference, in Melrose Arch, between 7-9 May 2013. Details and agenda of the conference are displayed below:
